Hong Jun Lee

I’m a first‑year PhD student in Computer Science at King’s College London. I work on multi-agent reinforcement learning and large language models, currently focusing on meta-reinforcement learning.

About

I started my PhD in June 2026, supervised by Stefanos Leonardos and Yali Du in the Distributed Artificial Intelligence group at King’s.

I obtained my MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE), and spent two years working as an actuary and a data scientist in London.

Away from the desk, I enjoy chess, video games and reading. I am native in English, Mandarin and Malay.

Research interests

Learned multi-agent update rules

How can meta-learning help discover update rules for agents that are learning together?

Strategic adaptation to other learners

How can agents anticipate, adapt to, and shape the learning of the agents they interact with?

Self-play and co-evolution

How can opponents, curriculums, and tasks evolve alongside an agent to sustain useful learning?

Strategic LLM agents that reason about other agents

How can language-model agents reason about others' behaviour, and use it to understand strategic interactions?
